While I did it now!  There was a small speck on my screen I attempted to remove it with a micro fiber cloth and it turned into a monochrome smudge about 3/16 of an inch. No scratch and hardly noticeable when on but very disheartening. Order a screen protector to prevent any further damage of the screen. Anyone ever used  anti-fingerprint oleophobic coating?

After closer examination the sudge is below the exterior surface. It appears it is a defect in the display itself.

Any chance there is a hard to see protective coating already on your CS 5.5?

Possibly spittle from cough, sneeze, or snort?
If so, hard to get off with out using tiny bit of Spit or special plastic screen cleaners.

No it is defiantly a flaw below the glass. The screen surface is perfectly smooth. With the unit off  the largest spot is about the size of a pencil and silver in appearance below the glass.
