Wishing everyone a happy Easter and Pessach as well as a belated happy new year for our Chinese friends and fellow pilots we can today, 1 April 2018, proudly present the first prototype of SparcX, which is nothing less than Flying in a new Dimension!

After the record breaking success of the world leading original Spark, we are taking it to a natural next level. The SparcX can carry (depending on the version chosen) pilot and co-pilot plus 500 Kg payload - or alternatively - 4 to 6 additional passengers (depending on passenger weight).

Formerly known issues with OTG or WiFi are history now, since all functions are controlled onboard with a double redundant glass fibre cabling to the high end and unfailable flight control systems.

This first prototype of SparcX is capable of flying in a 100 km range or alternatively one hour non stop direct flight to a given destination with one battery charge. While this is already a very good standard compared to competitors, we are happy to report that tests with a newly developed fuel cell are in an advanced stage and will permit a 500 Km range or five hours non stop flight.

We do not need to explain how revolutionary the SpacX will be on the still very limited market for this type of aircraft and we are extremely proud that two of the internationally most renowned pilots are part of this exciting adventure: SparcX - Flying in a new dimension!

Will distance be shorter in Europe flying in CE ?, would like to see the full spec sheet.

To answer all initial questions:
1. It will most certainly become available before summer but our engineers are still working on it.
2. Since SparcX operates without WiFi, the range will be the same in all global regions.
3. Full specs:
    Model 1 (pre-order open, cargo and passenger version): Max speed 100 km/h, max range 100 km cruise or 1 hour flighttime in straight line of flight.
    Model 2 (as soon as fuel cell is finalised by our engineers): Max speed 100 km/h, max range 500 km cruise or 5 hours flight time in straight line of flight.

Can't wait to put the sister-in-law in it and hit RTH.  Fingers crossed (and holding a magnet) for a compass error during the trip.

5 hours of total flight time? Doesn’t that sound a bit “corny” considering the size of the battery/drone?

Considering the time of year I would have thought that they could have introduced a chocolate coloured version. But perhaps I am just rabbiting on.Do DJI need to get this out sooner perhaps? If so we could all egg them on.

Just hope the battery does not fall out,,,,

That was one of the original designs, but it did not make it past the drawing board ;)

Dang.... No 5K camera and the OTG cable STILL don't work....  { yeh, I know...he said no need for OTG, but I got the cable and I NEED to use it. }

I do miss some of the older forum members that were in for a joke like this one
