Last weekend I tried something 'new' (for me at least).
Strapping the DJI Osmo Mobile to a monopod to get some elevation



The Movie Pro app had a hard time focussing, but that was me forgetting to fix the focus before pressing rec.....
Other than that I learned that the fast shutterspeed does not work well with pans (I left them out) and the effect is quite nice.

Just make sure you keep it in VLOS. LOL

Yes definitely, always keep in VLOS and check GPS lock with homepoint recorded at take off! Great video, thank you!

Very nice video and the transitions flowed really well, especially with the family. It's hard to get an artistic production filming the wife and kids, but I think you accomplished that goal. Most of all, the videos of the Mavic and Osmo looked too close in comparison to differentiate between them.

I am glad to see that you didn't get any strong interference from the RC at frame 0.50 It could of ended up as a RTH.

Very good drone, i like it!

Good work! You can 'level up' by going into Intelligent Flight Mode by riding a bike at the same time - should produce some nice smooth footage. ;-)

Your creativity is impressive! I don't mind lending you my budgie if you want to move onto orbit shots. He flies around in perfect circles, you just to figure out how you plan to saddle the Osmo to the bird.

It takes a lot of commitment to plan an entire day around the complications of flying your drone. I tend to like going out in the early morning or early evening when the Sun goes down.

I may try this. I have a strong monopod that doesn’t get used.

Depending on the head and release plate it is possible without any DJI (or other) accessory.
But I am still planning on buying the articulating arm for more convenient usage.
Or even the tripod from DJI ( for a little more height )
But the first one stores in a smaller package I think, so that may be the one.

Or just a quick fly in a lunchbreak.

Very good! I had thought of something similar for doing elevated 360s in built up areas, rather akin to a 30 foot selfie stick ;)
