Hello!

How come you can't disable the obstacle avoidance when starting tracking mode? With obstacle avoidance enabled, the speed is too limited to track faster object ( boats ) and I don't need obstacle avoidance where I fly.

Latest update and firmware on IOS.

DJI : could you allow this? It's annoying you can't disable it but you can allow to fly backward...

Cheers!

I do agree! They should be able to disable this option.

Theoretically speaking, there is no speed limit in Active Tracking Mode which is closely related to the flying environment.

Are you sure? It can't follow any object moving faster than 10km/h.

When I disable obstacle avoidance, the drone flies faster.

I have similar worries about it.

I always fly with OA off. But:
The spark will not allow me to go to active track unless I move the OA slider to on.

We know OA doesn’t work with speeds higher than 10kmh.
So, if it goes faster than 10kmh anyway, the forced OA-on requirement is solety made for annoyance.

Likely needs obstacle avoidance on to keep the drone from running into the object it is tracking.  It is not like the drone has radar to keep its distance correct from the object.  Tracking just works the drone to keep the target centered.  It isn't the greatest at making sure it is not closing or retreating from the target.  So using OA and not running into your little brother Jimmy while tracking him is the lawyer's main goal.

I see that point.
So there are two kinds of OA, one with speed limit and another one without?

The user setting slider is for the first one.
Active track uses the another one (otherwise it can't exceed 10kmh).
Forcing the pilot to switch the first one on, makes no sense here.
