Quite pleased with this, used a local public car park to take off and land; is more than the 50 metres away from any building...Although am directly underneath the cctv camera.
Learnt today, that taking a panoramic photo at 45% battery is probably not a great idea; Spark was beeping at 30% battery, so I brought it down. Fitted the prop guards to this flight as my first time in this location.
i like these kind of photos, It's not too high so you get to see some detail. I would have thought panaormic at 45% would be ok...should have been done before 35% ?
I have never tried that feature but it does feel like my sparks battery dies very quick when it hits about 40% I guess if you have the warnings etc set at 30% you only really get 70% to play around with

Agreed, but as a newbie, I'd rather have less time to 'play' and know that I've time in hand if I get in to difficulties whilst learning. Once I've more flying time I might change.

my advice to turn the battery warning to 15 precent, and make the panorama. After this panorama make it return to home.
(aslong as it is not too far away)
My advice is to try and land while the battery still has more than 20% capacity. It's much better for the longevity of the battery.
Reduce the initial battery warning from 30% to 20%, aiming to land, disarm and switch off the battery at 15%.
BTW - the CAA drone code is 50m from any single building, people, vehicle and 150m from built up areas, such as villages and public roads...

No probs - the shot looked like a good 200m away anyway ;) and yeah, prop guards are generally only used for indoor flights as they will impact on flight performance, especially at that altitiude in a wind. Though it's up to you of course.

Do you think the prop guards effected the battery that much that it caused the excessive drain? I have done a lot with 15% of battery; definitely way more than one pano shot.

Yes, wind speed drains the battery very heavily and prop guards will exacerbate that as restricts the aerodynamics plus adds weight - they will knock minutes off your flight time. I only use them when in confined areas
