Soooo...
I've had the compass errors since I got my m210 in september, DJI promising since months to fix it with firmwares.

Last update on aircraft RC batteries and camera, flying either TB55 wioth X4s/XT, X5s/XT, or TB50 with XT, always the same problems :

After 2 minutes of flight, the aircraft start to do small circles getting bigger and bigger, sometimes with compass error on screen.
Today, I was luckily in an empty field, but the circles got really big, and suddenly without touching the remote the M210 started to fly 10mph in a straight line.
Just managed to bring it back in atti as it was circling again..

There is the log : https://www.dropbox.com/s/rrl663 ... 0418201245.dat?dl=0 I'm unable to read it. Could someone take a look ? What should I do ? Thanks ..

No matter what DAT file will reveal, I'll not fly this baby anymore if I were you. Send her for repair ASAP while still on warranty ...

This isn't the right .DAT. Look here for info about retrieving the .DAT

Sorry to hear the issue. Just to verify, has the drone been damaged in the flight? Could you check and resend the flight log? It seems that the file name is not correct...

Uploading right now.

Hopefully not I was managed to bring it back safely, because I was in a big open space (field)

I extracted with DatCon the DJI Assistant DAT, but it gave me multiple .dat file. But only one should correspond to the real flight.  I've put a video of the screen of My CrystalSky reading the flight log as well.
You will see different problems, but a 30s you can see the m210 spinning on itself..

The incident shown in your video occurs in FLY218 at time 420 secs. There was an even more pronounced incident at time 371 secs. These both appear to be similar to the other M210 incident I looked at (  https://forum.dji.com/thread-136512-3-1.html  post #93). Specifically, the compass error seems to be associated with extreme pitch and roll angles.

This looks a lot to me like a compass that isn't calibrated properly. I'm sure that you've done a compass calibration. But, was the calibration done with the batteries used in this flight?

Yes I even did it 5 min before the flight with the same batteries  ..

I guess that shoots that theory. If you have time can you do a test for me? Basically, we want to see the magentometer data for every possible orientation of the M2100. Here's a verbal description that I posted in a different thread.

....it's pretty easy - no actual flight or motorStart is required. After batteryOn hold the M200 at arms length so that it's pointing away from you. Then raise it all the the way up so that it points up. Then lower to all the way down so that it's pointing down. After this, turn your body 10° to 15° and repeat the raise/lower maneuver. Continue turning your body while performing the raise/lower maneuver. What we're try to achieve is that the M200 will have been placed in every orientation. You could then turn the M200 in you hands so that it's pointing left (or right) and then repeat the body turning while raising lowering procedure. Then retrieve the .DAT

and here is a YouTube I threw together

I'll do that right now.

Could it be that maybe the imu was done with tb50 and not tb55 ?

Thanks but this doesn't contain the test I described. Selecting the right .DAT can be tricky - you probably managed to select the wrong one. This "flight" was 350 secss in duration, had the M210 pointing -47° the entire time. Both roll and pitch were close to level. It occured at time 2018-4-19 14:56:36 GMT. Here is the location

It's amazing the numbers of problems with these compasses can we really trust and fly blind?

Not all of us are affected by this. My replacement M200 is behaving fair so far. But I'll definitely not fly BVLOS (Behind VLOS) with birds which does have it, and fix the issue asap.

Update: I just got an update from our engineers that the issue has been optimized in the latest firmware. Please upgrade to V1.01.0900 and see whether the drone works well.

Well,  I have been watching this and other threads.......not impressed.  A month without a response from DJI in this thread.....

I was going to step up to be ready for the next level.....but I think I'll stick with the P4Pro... Residential, Commercial, Inspections, Mapping.....it all works at a fraction of the cost....even with 2 back up units!

Hi,

Just read your posts, I had exactly the same problem, I sent mine back and got a new unit, just the aircraft, worked perfectly.

Cheers,

Ken

Thanks Koz,  I saw that thread before......Big $$ should come with World Class Support.

If DJI is helping outside this thread, then great!  If not........I'm sitting on my money for the next level.
