Opinions...

I just bought an X5 with the DJI 15mm lens, and I bought the Olympus 45mm lens as well.  DJI X5 owners manual states that no balancing ring or hood is required for the Olympus.  I just flew it for the first time, and it clearly needs additional lens weight.  I did not get a  hood with the purchase.  The weight is loaded to the rear, and the vibration from the gimbal motor makes the lens unusable.  Anyone familiar with this?  Owners manual wrong?  Or am i missing something?
Thank you...
Keith

Hi Keith, according to our user manual, the balancing ring is not required for Olympus 45mm lens, do you mean the lens still loads to the rear even you power on the gimbal right? May I have a short video about it? Thank you.

Hi Keith,

I have been using the 45mm lens on X5 and found that although it’s back heavy when mounted, the adding of a 37mm diameter protection filter will make the set up usable even though it’s still back heavy.

yep, looks like a filter and even a hood are required.  Just curious why DJI says not required?

Hi Keith,
Last year I took some footages of huge containers & vehicles carriers, shot with the Olympus 45mm & 25mm on X5.

The Giant on Its Way (Shot w/ Olympus 45mm & 25mm on X5)

There was a 37mm diameter protection filter mounted on my Olympus 45mm lens.

Cool.  the use of a 45mm really compresses the scene, and makes it look like your right there.  Cant wait to use it.  I bought it for wedding gigs.  Then I can be further away and still collect good video and still.  DJI does not recommend it for video use.
