What's your Gear?? is it Tello??? probably not....
On flatland, desert, no obstacle, no interference, no wind probably, all this brings to your effort understandable.
Also because DJI states that (For the Best Mavic Pro and Remote) distance is up to 7KM.

If you give us a little more info about conditions, what was you flying, ecc.

Mavic Pro. I know 7 kilometers is theoretically possible and only under perfect conditions, and not sure if you’ll have enough juice to make it back. Unless you have the Platinum maybe(?.

Congratulations dancopter! Yes the platinum can go farther from 7 km and go back. 7.3 km and landed with 10% battery

dont be a jerk about it.  6 Km is a really decent run, even if it is over a relatively flat looking desert, he was still flying with real world conditions..  even mentions was a bit of wind, helped him on return but that means it must been fighting him the way out..

I'm in awe... pumping 720p 6ks away with next to zero latency...
Congrats DJI on making such a reliable and robust transmission system. Its a pity only the Mavic Pro and Platinum has the occusync tech.

Impressive range. No harm done in areas like that so well done!

Needs to be asked:  was this using the stock controller antenna?

No ground clutter or interference... doesn't seem like a feat to me.
On the flip side as long as it was fun is all that matters.

It's not always the range but the battery - the OP was already on 58% at 6KM - 7KM would have taken that under 50% then it's pot luck if the drone has enough juice to return and heavily dependent on the wind speeds and direction. Hit a change in wind on the return and you'll have a long walk ahead...

Presuming electronics in transmitter and receiver are fairly identical across the same models, say within 0.3 - 0.6 dBm, differences in range tell more about local interference, antenna setup and flight height than anything else.

For those in doubt, there is nothing wrong when you get less distance,.

Yes indeed the battery is all that limits the distance. I went out in total windless conditions and turned around at 53% and landed when it went from 1 to 0%.

Nuts dude... certainly you have faith...
The only way i could that is to fly it above my head a few hundred feet and keep following it underneath. But that really defeats the purpose of a range test..
