Hello!

I did some more extensive test of new Mavic Air which I recently bought. I was shooting in JPG+ RAW and photos which I got are extremaly different in quality. I used to have DJI Spark before, so I don't have any expierience how should DNG file look compared to JPG.

I noticed firstly that DNG file is more textured than JPG ( it looks like middle of photo is bulking outside) and much more blurry. Focus is just present in the center of photo. Could someone please look a this photos and tell me if I set something wrong or everything is ok or mine Mavic Air camera unit is faulty ?

Here is the oryginal DNG file: https://www.dropbox.com/s/mc9n5zqvd5kllop/DJI_0058.DNG?dl=0
Here oryginal JPG: https://www.dropbox.com/s/k282s6lnm49t5mo/jpg.JPG?dl=0

and here are photos after some small correcitons in lightroom

I got also really grainy/noisy 4K video from the Mavic Air, I know that video needs postproduction but it doesn't look normal.
Thanks for any clues in advance !

Keep in mind the higher your sharpness is the more noise you will get.  What is your sharpness setting at?  The MA is much more forgiving noise wise than the MP at a +1 sharpness so curious what your sharpness and contrast settings are.

I set colour settings to normal and style to Landscape ! So +1 +1 0

Unless all you want to do is output jpg files, I recommend shooting with the most neutral settings and then making your adjustments from the RAW DNG in apps like Lightroom.

Remember when DJI creates a jpg, they are doing so from the same RAW data you see in your DNG. So if the jpg appears to be sharper, that's just because DJI's added more sharpening and contrast.

I generally find DJI's jpgs to be overcooked with too much noise reduction, but sometimes a jpg is "good enough," so I always shoot RAW+JPG just in case, knowing I can get better results from the DNG if I'm are willing to put in the time with the appropriate editing app.

I will agree that the MA camera seems a bit noisier than what I expect to get from my MP, but using some judicious sharpening mask in Lightroom  takes care of that. Hope some of this helps.

Thank you very much for explenation and realising me that it's possible to get good photos by this drone with correct adjustments! I will continue mine trials today and tomorrow and post the photos on neutral settings.
