In the assistant folder there is a viewer.exe that you can run to view the files but they're not intuitive so you will be spending a bit of time understanding the data fields/metrics.
I believe in the DJI Assistant app there is also a link to the viewer there.

I opened the viewer program and within it I opened one of the .DAT files I had saved locally.
I only got some titles on the right of the screen. See screen shot.
I was hoping to get the CSV files I always see at this forum.

The CSV file is mostly from the TXT file on your device.
You can upload it HERE and then download the CSV file from there.

G_Sig is right about the CSV files
If you are using an IOS device:
You can go to iTunes , connect to the computer with your iPhone (in my case iPad Mini 4). Click on the iPhone symbol. click on the App sharing file . It will bring up the apps on your phone. Find DJI GO 4 app and click on it and you should get all its files. Mainly the log files and flight records are the ones I look at. Hope that helps?

Sorry to pester you.
I connected my iPad Mini 4 to my PC, opened iTunes , clicked on the iPad icon but I do not have apps or app sharing.
The only categories I have under Device are Music, Movies, TV Shows, Books, Audio Books, Tones and Purchased.

This should work Log from Apple.

We are making progress!
I finally was able to navigate through iTunes to the Flight Records folder and saved it locally.
The folder contained many TXT files but when I open them thay only have ASCII characters...
