I live in a No Fly Zone, but I want to practice the simulator at home.Currently, the simulator will not launch because the GPS thinks it is in a No Fly Zone.
Could you update the simulator to work even in No Fly Zones?
Otherwise I have to move 10+km just to launch the simulator.
(It would be better if the simulator works without turning on the aircraft...)

Have you tried covering the top of the Phantom with aluminium foil so it doesn't know where it is?

Apparently, it either catches GPS even with the aluminium foil or it remembers its last location.
I don't understand why a "simulator" needs to be restrained by No Fly Zone when it doesn't actually fly the aircraft. Also, why it needs the aircraft connection to run the simulator at all.

Hilariously stupid

Maybe turn off your device's GPS, go to airplane mode perhaps? It might get the location from there (if you also cover the GPS on the Phantom so it can't get a position).

DJI really needs to get its act together and drop all this nannying bullcrap.

Working as intended. It is simulating flying in a no fly zone so you can't. I am joking but I bet that's DJI's logic.

Please DJI, fix this.  It is a serious impairment for a large number of customers.

You can try fly indoors with weak GPS signal. So GPS coordinates will be (0,0) that you can play the simulator.

I also live in a no-fly zone - a very large no-fly zone (Washington DC).  I have to travel 25 km in order to be able to fly and was hoping to be able to use the simulator to practice.  Unfortunately I can't use the simulator for the same reasons discussed above.  I hope DJI will change this soon and allow the simulator to be used within a no-fly zone.  It kind of defeats the purpose of having a simulator.   My only thought is that once I have traveled to fly it and then return home, make sure it doesn't pick up a gps signal before I use the simulator - perhaps in my basement.
