It seems that the development of drones is heading towards caging up propellers.

That is one thing that scares people about drones the most, I think:
Not that this thing might fall on your head but it might slice you up for some real good scars ;-)

I think all drones should have a degree of safety features built in.

If you choose to remove them, that should be an option as well. At your own risk, or others.

Some pretty cool stuff. I'm starting hate technology because my salary doesn't increase to keep up with buying all the newest gadgets.

If you buy a decent quality RC model, it should be good for several long years of awesome use.

You don't need to buy every cool RC drone that catches your eye.
These are Just some food for thought, to keep you interested in the future of our hobby.

But if you see something you like, don't be shy of shopping around for it...
Amazon is not the only other vendor... Haha

Oh I totally agree with you. I'm a tech junkie and I love what is being created all the time.

When I was searching for my first drone I held out and saved for the P4P because I knew it would last me for quite some time with the better camera.

Wise shopping.  Surely your Phantom 4 Pro' will serve you very well, several seasons of memories.

There will always be a bigger better model, just around the calendar corner. Time rolls on...

Always a true statement with technology. I figure I wont be looking to replace the P4P till the P7P comes out (with 1.5 hr flight time and 10 mile max range). Or unless I have a tragic incident with the P4P (knocking on wood while typing this).

As always, change is here to stay.  Mostly they're nice toys.  It would be fun to have them all, but I'd still use Phantom/Mavic for photo/video...

That's interesting. DJI seems to like having that ability as well.
On several of the latest offerings, there is a fold ability.
