Sure, you can check airmap or some other site, but how do you know those who run the site are paying attention or that the info is current?
I've found the method on this FAA page to be super easy.
First, if you are flying anywhere near any airport, find the airport's LID (short for Location Identifier). You can find it easy with google (e.g. Los Angelas International is LAX, Davis Airport is W50, etc.).*
Next, bring up this FAA page: https://pilotweb.nas.faa.gov/PilotWeb/
Type in the LID in the big white box.
Click on the View NOTAMS button just below.**
Done.
*If you aren't near an airport, you can type in the lat/long for your location in the area below.
**If the NOTAM list is too long, use the F3 key on your Windows desktop/laptop and search for TFR within the list
