Are you asking about height from ground, or distance from home point ?

If it's altitude then 500m (1640 feet) above home point is as high as it will go, and I believe the FAA recommend a max' of 120m (400ft).

Well if in Fcc area you can fly up to 7km and in a Ce area up to 4km. Have you got the antennae's pointed in a 45 degree angle. Could be interference from the area you flying in.

Try flying your Mavic Pro in rural open area.  Well away (as in +8 miles) from any airports or flight restricted areas (NFZ).

Making sure that there is nothing nearby that might interfere with radio transmissions between your DJI RC and DJI MP.

You are probably in a NFZ zone hence the limited flight distance.

Do you have any Android device or know someone which has one.
There was someone doing test with this few days ago that its because GPS mismatch. It coused the drone to go into some kind of save mode.
He connected to Android device once and after that all was good.
Would bee good to know if this is true and then what IOs or device dont work.
Will look more for that link to post it here.

Hi, as the floor 9# mentioned, please keep away from airports and flight restricted areas (NFZ), choose an outdoor open area where the GPS is good and no magnetic interference to try the flight again, hope everything is fine, thanks!

If you can set up the Go4 app it's ok. You don't use it to fly just to get location once.
It is a known fail about Go4 not getting location from some iOS devices and making the drone go to some safety mode. Has mostly been on MA but worth trying.

That post you point to highlights a bug in DJI Go 4 that relates to the Mavic Air use of the 5.8 GHz channels.

The OP here has a Mavic Pro, the Mavic Pro Ocusync uses 2.4 GHz channels only, and does not use the 5.8 GHz channels at all.

What happen to MP if it don't know where on the planet it is?
Do you think it will bee in FCC mode? This error is because it don't get location and will force safe mode.
As I clearly stated in my post it has mostly been on MA but worth trying.

The Mavic Pro knows exactly where it is, in that other post the 5.8 GHz selection problem relating to the Mavic Air is caused by a bug in iOS DJI Go 4 not knowing the region the handset is in. Even if it were in CE mode it would still have a range of 2.5 miles using 2.4 GHz. Not knowing where on the planet the handset was did not prohibit the use of the 2.4GHz channels.

The OPs problem here is most likely related to the fact that he is right beside an airport. Although he does not give much detail.

You are probably right and it's true seeing the flight log won't hurt anyone.
That would at least clear the truth about distance to airfield.
