It's mainly to do with the different radio transmission systems that each use. MP uses OcuSync whilst the MA uses enhanced WiFi and the Spark WiFi.

I would have thought that a company would try to standardise as much as possible as it gives their clients the option of say just upgrading from one craft to the next at a better investment to the client who will then obviously stay with said supplier instead of going to another brand altogether.
Each drone will have progressive specs to suit different pilot needs. Those on a tighter budget, for example, will go for the Spark but if that had OcuSync it would add hundreds to the purchase price.
