Hi

My brand new spark won't take off. I got it yesterday, activated it, and updated the firmware as requested by the app.

I have tried to downgrade, upgrade and refresh the firmware via PC.

I have tried to login and log out of the app. Reinstall the app. But nothing works.

I get 4 red lights on start up, and in the app, It says Aircraft locked.

I do not have a remote control, but from what I can gather I should not be needed.

I have run out of ideas and are after less than 24 hours of ownership already ready to return it.

Since it costs a f*uck ton of money. One would expect it to work without any problems out of the box.

Does anyone have a solution, or did I just recieve a broken item.

I have yet to have the fun of flying this thing.

Try doing an IMU and Compass Calibration to see if that opens for you the ability to take-off?

I had the same issue and same disappointment as you did buddy. I waited anxiously for my drone to arrive and when I got it I was faced with this problem before I even got to enjoy the product that I payed for. It is pathetic. And what is more pathetic is that the solution is not found here on the DJI forums or through DJI support but on a dodgy third party application that you install on your PC and that unlocks your Spark.

Just my 10 cents - as we are talking about a rather expensive piece of machinery I'd wait for DJI support if I were you.I know you must be excited but still. Good luck!

Did you get it with multiple batteries, try downloading dji assistant on the pc and updating each battery in the spark individually using dji assistant software

I do not live in a NFZ. I did check that as well and I only got the quad with one battery, so this is not the issue either.

I will keep updating until this is solved, or the flying brick is returned.

OK Funkie !

So best is to Contact DJI Support maybe they can help you as yours is a 'NEW' Drone.

I will NEVER use third party software, its 'NEW' so dont tamper with it, just return it to the DJI Agent for Replacement.

1. Please kindly offer the aircraft SN;
2.  Which mobile device do you connect? Android or IOS? Does the issue remain if changed to another OS? Please kindly offer the log from here:
Android: /sdcard/DJI/dji.go.v4/LOG/CACHE/UP_NEW_ALL and DJI/dji.go.v4/LOG/CACHE/UP_DATA_ALL
IOS: log/upgrade0
3. Make sure the internet is connected and update the flysafe data to the latest version.
4. Please kindly refer the tutorial video and export all data(including the flight logs and black box) for analysis.

I use Android, A OnePlus 3T. I don't own any apple products, so can't try one of those.

I don't have a SD card installed on my phone, but found all the logs in the dji folder, and all flight and blackbox logs via assistant 2.

How can i upload them to you?

My situation is different. I bought from first batch of spark. I used initially then I did not use for a long time. I took it out today. Ran all updates successfully.
Now I have same 'Aircraft Locked' problem.
I am not in a NFZ. In East Coast USA.
Wasted a good Saturday. Not happy.

Downgrading did work.  I'm is alive. Fantastic, thank you so much.

Now we just have to wait Dji to fix this mess. Think if all the Android users that did not go online looking for a solution.

And also all of the  wastes hours by us and other frustrated users.

Are you seriously saying that all Android users need to buy an IOS device to use Spark?
I suggest you advertise Spark with such statement.
Mine was not even a new purchase. I am one of first batch customers. need a solution quickly.
