Had a strange failure this afternoon, perfect weather, low winds.  At end of flight, after about 20 min., Mavic Pro was hovering about 10 feet in the air and one prop came apart, causing the drone to spiral into the grass.  No damage as the impact was cushioned by the grass and three and a half working props trying to stabilize the drone.  Props were about 6 months old and only had maybe 5 flights due to winter weather here in Kentucky.

Yeh, where did you buy from. I use the same props from Dji and went out quite some distance and no issues. Always check your props before every flight it is a must

Here’s a pic of the failed prop with the three good one that were on the drone:

Strange that both blades of the one prop broke near middle.
Almost like that prop hit something or something hit prop.

Looks like it either hit something or they were cracked possibly and you just didn't notice.  No way that would of just happened from the air.

Looks to me the same maybe hit something or got hit by something. I purchased new 8331 prop from dji as well, flown in 30mph gust with no problems.

Are you sure you did not hit something while flying?

The propeller has almost certainly hit something, to get to look like that. I would be able to accept if one propeller blade should have failed and was broken, but not both blades at the same time.

I bought genuine DJI low noise props for my Mavic Pro and although they have performed perfectly so far, I find they are rather delicate. Tips that snag the Combo bag as the drone slides in (Very carefully). Twists and nicks as they chip against the under-body plastic loop at the rear, cross-overs that bend them when folded. For the reduction in noise which is realy a change in pitch, I will go back to the original design on the basis they are more robust.
I will definitely make a thorough check of the hub parts in future.

After looking at the photos, that is exactly my first thought.

I have been using low noise props on my MP since last November, even hit a few small tree branches with them once, not even a nick. Also, I bought mine directly off the DJI web store.

I would not trust any others. There were lots of post about the low noise props that were available to buy, from third party vendors, prior to being available directly from DJI and they all seemed to have problems.

I bought the low noise props directly from the DJI store also, came fedex from Atlanta.  I would agree with you about hitting something, except that the drone was only 25 feet from me and at only 8-10 feet altitude hovering when the prop came apart.  At first I thought someone shot at it or something like that, but there was no one around.  I find it strange that the breaks patterns look the same on both sides of the prop and at about the same distance from the center hub.

It looks like the prop broke in the middle part. Are you sure you didn't hit anything? Good to hear your bird survived.

Not a good sign.  I have had props fail like this although not on a DJI drone.  The prop blade does have an axial torque which varies based on wind speed or forward flight speed.  The winglets on the end of the blade probably increase the torque.  If the material was off spec or a small inclusion or bubble in the blade could cause a fatigue failure.  The fact that there was a little bit of blade remaining saved the drone from a worse crash.

Then I am at a loss for, how it could have happened. If it was me, I would send the props back to DJI and ask for an explanation how this could happen.
