Took a bunch of photographers to visit Carrie Furnaces in Rankin, PA last Friday and shot this navigable/zoomable 360 pano 300ft over the site using Hangar 360. Doesn't appear to be a way to enbed this in the forum, but you really want to see this full-screen, anyway, so just follow the link and let me know what you think.  UPDATED LINK: https://viewer.hangar.com/360?productId=1rA943rR

Thanks! It's an amazing place, isn't it? This marks my 5th visit since 2013 and it never gets old. Since you once lived in the area, you might also be familiar with Weirton, and so might also be interested in this 360: UPDATED LINK: https://viewer.hangar.com/360?productId=ar5P8Djd

Another great shot.
Never been to Weirton. Have been to Wheeling WV which I believe is south.

Weirton is about 40 minutes west of Pittsburg, and is undergoing the total demolition that Carrie escaped.

There was a Phantom in the air at the same time but I haven't been able to spot it.

you're welcome. I tried 360 Hangar but could get the hang of it.

When I first got it the app worked great, then there was a bit when it didn't want to work with a certain firmware or two, now it seems stable and the quality of the panos are much improved with higher res and take full advantage of the improved Mavic Pro jpg renders in the current firmware.

Switching to sports mode allows you to navigate to where you want to initiate the 360 capture, and you can use Sports Mode to override the app. You have to remember to restore your camera settings after using the app, if you, as do I, prefer to shoot RAW+JPG.

I shoot mostly Raw now. I must admit the first few tries made me nervous, my Mavic  didn't seem very stable. But will give it another try.

Beautiful shots, and I agree 360 has really become a lot more stable since the most recent MP firmware update.  It also works beautifully with the Spark.

Great shot.  I have a spot picked for a 360 but whenever the weather is decent, there's a crowd there :-(

I tried this out recently. It was breezy at 300’ and the horizon didn’t work out so well. Also didn’t adjust camera settings before hand (did it go to auto?) as it was a maiden attempt and I was more concerned about not being in control per se..
any idea if you can lower the altitude?

Can’t seem to view it now but I recall seeing this before. I believe your result was much more crisp than mine

Weird, looks like Hangar 360 reindexed content, breaking old links -- the current link is https://viewer.hangar.com/360?productId=1rA943rR and I'll edit the original post with the updated link. Thanks to all who pointed out the problem.

Yes, breezy winds make for a challenge! Wonder if that accounts for the blurriness as well?

You can change the height at which a pano is captured, though 300ft is recommended. I've only done that a couple times and can't remember if I liked the results any more or less.

You have no control over the camera settings in the current version of the app, and beware that if you previously had Go 4 configured for RAW capture, Hangar 360 will reset the camera settings back to JPG.

Looks fantastic. I've snuck into Carrie to make some photographs, and your shot is a great perspective I haven't seen before. RIP Weirton. I wish I had aerial shots of Stubensville from when I was dodging security there :-)

Thanks, and me, too. Both times I explored Stuebenville and Weirton I only had an iPhone to document the sites. Stuebenville's demolition was one of the major reasons I finally bought an interchangeable lens system.

Awesome!
How does someone get setup on hangar? Is that a paid service?
