You are correct. No flying in National Parks. You can fly in National Forest area but not in designated wilderness areas. Its a tricky thing all these rules. When I plan on flying in the mountains or forest areas I always stop by the Rangers stations to let them know what I am doing and where I can fly. They are than happy to make sure you know what areas are ok to fly in.

Do a Google search for flying drones in National Forest and Parks and it will explain it better.

Have fun on your trip.

You being a non-citizen flying a drone is not a problem as long as your flying is for fun and recreation. There is plenty of information available on the internet concerning where you can, and cannot fly.  What are some of the other places you plan to visit?

You should follow the above advice about National Parks & Forests, not all States are no go zones for their parks, for state parks you will need to check each states website for their parks.  When in doubt contact the ranger station for the park and they can best explain what their rules are.
Unless you are going to be operating as a paid professional you will fly under the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 101 rule set see: https://www.ecfr.gov/cgi-bin/tex ... .2.101&rgn=div5
You would be considered a model aircraft.  Otherwise, if you are operating professionally, then you will need to obtain the Part 107 certificate, and that will take you a little time to prepare for and complete.
If you can provide more detail about exactly where you are going then others here, who live there or near there could be helpful to you.
Wish you the best of luck and enjoy our country...remember, take only pictures and leave only footprints!

Click on the below link and read #7 under Registration.  You'll have to scroll about 3/4 down.

https://www.faa.gov/uas/faqs/

To begin the registration process, click here:  https://faadronezone.faa.gov/#/register

You can familarize yourself with the rules you need to follow by reading Section 336 here:  https://www.faa.gov/uas/media/Sec_331_336_UAS.pdf

And you should follow the AMA Safety Code here:  https://www.modelaircraft.org/files/105.pdf

It would help to plan your flights in advance so that you don't make any mistakes.  Use a map such as www.airmap.io to guide you.  It will provide phone numbers for most airports if you need to call.

Good luck

I'm glad Mark the Droner is paying attention... you will need to register as a model aircraft in order to operate legally -  I quote:
If you are a foreign national and you are not eligible to register your sUAS in the United States there are two ways for you to operate. If you want to operate your UAS exclusively in accordance with the Special Rule for Model Aircraft, you may complete the process provided in the web-based registration portal for section 336 aircraft. The agency will consider the certificate that is issued to be a recognition of ownership rather than a certificate of U.S. aircraft registration. The Dronezone website is where you can register online.
Big cities can be difficult places to fly drones - they are usually surrounded by airports and their associated restricted airspace.  If you can get out of town there are lots of places - especially in UTAH. If you visit vfrmap.com, you can check out the areas you plan to visit on a sectional Aeronautical Chart, which displays airspace around airports, National Parks, Wildlife Areas, prohibited & restricted areas, etc., which might help you avoid trouble.  You might consider making a post asking people who live in the areas you plan to visit to suggest good places for you to fly your drone. The people on this forum like to help each other and I'm sure they would help you.

Please follow the local regulations. And I would recommend you learn the rules from the official website if you want to take your drone to USA. Here is the link for your reference: https://www.faa.gov/uas/
