I can't seem to locate what the Avatar size needs to be. Every time I try to upload an image it tells me to crop the image but doesn't show me anything to crop.

I thought I was pretty smart. The forum avatar has proven me wrong.

You must do the avatar upload on a regular computer.

If you try on a mobile device, some important parameters are missing...

An avatar may take up to two weeks to appear in your new posts. So be patient.  ;-p

I'm using a PC to do it. I guess I will wait to see if something changes. Thanks.

If you already loaded it, and have gotten a message stating so, then it's just a matter of time, before DJI gets around to approving and setting it. It will show up in your home page first, then slowly show up in your future posts as well.

Here is the message that I keep getting regardless of the file dimensions.

Try resizing to 200 X 200 pixels in jpeg
I just changed mine, and everything changed instantly (past posts included)!

The one you have now, the default is 120x120, for best result keep it 120px wide, height should not matter (i think).

I never went through that much trouble with mine. I know it wouldn't work on my iPad though.

It finally worked using my desktop, but did take a while for it to become visible and permanent.
Since my first avatar, I have changed mine three or four times.

It's nearly time to change mine once again. Actually it's long over due... ;-)

Tried 200 x 200 and that didn't work.

Do you save your file as a .jpg, .png or in another format?
Perhaps you get it saved as a progressive .jpg and the system don't like that.

Try upload your avatar picture in a reply here then save the file from the reply and try using that file.
Click on the Upload at the reply box, browse to your pic and select open, it should then upload and possibly convert it if needed and then it would get a strange random name. When posting the reply, simply right click the picture and do a "Save image as" then give it a human readable name but change nothing else.
If not that would do it, it is time to PM ex. Grace and point Her to this thread for assistance.

Well holly crap that worked. I was saving it as a regular JPEG out of Photoshop but it must have been doing something on the back-end that this forum didn't like.

Not sure why this was so difficult. Thanks  KedDK

Yes, much faster. I didn't know I had to use the DJI Forum to convert my photos in order to upload them to use as my avatar.

Maybe we need a tutorial on this subject. lol

Ah well, as long as you figured it out. Glad you have one.

Make a tutorial video for the new comers with those boring generic avatars.

You're welcome, nice to see your posts now stand out from the mass.

Still think you have PS set up to save as progressive jpegs, a tick that would have need to be ticked off in the save dialog.
Progressive can be seen as the pictures loading in steps going from a blurry then gets sharper and more detailed, it was used in "the good old days" to give the impression of faster loading specially on webpages.
Be aware that you might have problems with getting your pictures to display on some devices ex televisions from a USB stick if saved in progressive mode so if i am right it is worth consider if it is worth saving in that format unless you save for the web.

Edit: now i will look forward to see what RHP find out to get rid of that imo ugly mask he is using ...
