Yes, Manaus (the Amazonas state capital) doesn't have roads to other parts of the country, so all things come here by ships, boats, barges or plane! Despite of  Manaus doens't  have  roads, and is literally in the middle of the rainforest, almost 4 million people live there, and a has huge industry complex which exports electronics, motorbikes and ohter goods, to all over the world. So yes, they have big ships!! :-)
