I'd like to know which if either of these photos everyone prefers.

Hmm size of the sun on the bottom with the lighting of the top. However, if I have to choose one I would choose the top

I like the first one more.

The first photo has better color contrast and saturation, the second has more shadow distortion from the Sun.

If I were to choose, I choose second picture.

I prefer the second one. Imho better contrast and colors.

First one looks like form other planet. Second one is better.

I like them both but just felt like they seemed unnatural. I took them pointed directly at the sun with the hills casting the ground in shadow.

i like the first photo best.

I zoomed in on both.
The second one is more realistic with the size of the sun.
The first one gives more detail and clarity in the foreground then the first.
My choice would be the first one just because I can see more detail.

The second one as it looks more pleasing.

I also vote for the second because it is more natural.

I posted this yesterday because it was late and the more I looked at them, I just started to hate them.

I agree that the second is more natural but I wasn't sure how people would react to the sun being exposed that way.

top picture is almoust better

Eh, sorry to say, but I don't like either. What kind of scene are you trying to achieve here?

I think this will look better right after the sun dips below the horizon (or right before it arises above the horizon).

I like both but if I could only select one, I'd pick the second one.

If both of these were mine I would take the second one into a photo editor and lighten the shadows a bit in the foreground.  I prefer the second one for the saturation and look of the sun.  IMHO

Easily the second one. The contrast is far more natural. Shame about the sun flare though.
