The points are taken from a median average of total flight time and distance to calculate an EP level. It's for your personal info to gauge your development in flying and serves no other purpose.

HendrikJB we must have started out at the same time, I am also at the same level with same amount of points, and yes I am still learning as we go along.

Good day CW,

Thank you for always coming to my "rescue".

So it does not really take into account such things as which actions or smoothness of flight, maneuvers executed, etc?

Maybe you said before but where in the UK are you based? Maybe you can just send me a PM with this details?

Regards,

Hendrik

I`m from Pringle Bay, South Africa.  Where are you from?

DJI should do more with the level and points. Like upgrade discount for experienced pilots fly a lot and long time with the model. Extend or give discount for maintenance when pilot keep good record and fly save. Get award if fly over 100 hours without any accident etc.

i think that is a good idea.  That could actually go a long way.  It would encourage pilots to be safer because there could be a little bonus for them in the end!

although i don't need encouragement NOT to crash my quad.  I get enough of that from my wallet.

+1 from me on THAT... and maybe a "Safe Flyer" award for not crashing.  Kind of like the points your kids get on your automobile insurance when there's been no claims!

I'd go for an extension of DJI Care coverage, or a partial discount on renewal.  Some acknowledgement that safe-hours-flown should be rewarded and encouraged.

Pretty soon, you will level up and be able to wield more advanced weapons. With more experience points, you will be able to outfit your drone with machine guns, and missile launchers.

Thank you for always coming to my "rescue".

Yep JB - purely based on numerical data and nothing to do with your footage.

I'm in London, England.

Does it deduct points for crashes?
Does it give bonus points for most awesome crash of month or year?

The Experience Points is closely related to the flight distance and flight time. It will go up quickly if you fly regularly.

Thank you for that.
However I would like the Flight distance and/or Experience points be reflected as "Forum points" which will give a more balanced reflection of a pilot`s competence rather than just how often one posts and replies to topics on the forum.

Currently, the flight distance has been reflected on the Forum, you can check it under your Avatar. Sync your flight records regularly, the distance will increase as well.

The points you mentioned on the Forum can be found from here: https://forum.dji.com/forum.php? ... mp;page=1#pid623200 They are independent, just for reference.

I only see level and points under my Avatar. No flight distance information on there. I always sync my flight records.

That is correct and is the only place that you will see it on your computer.

However you will see the "Experience Points" after syncing from your mobile device ON your mobile Device.

Hope this helps.

So here is what I have found, after some experimentation:

Experience Points as displayed in the app  =  2 * (flight time in seconds)  +  (distance in meters as displayed in the Personal Home page)

It is pretty close for the three cases I have tried so far.
You would have to sync your flights to the cloud and then relogin to make sure the distance on the web page is up to date.

What does "Experience points" really mean?

A way for DJI to entice pilots to provide customer flight information for data mining by Marketing Dept.

That's interesting. With over 30 h, 300 km and 120 flights my phone consistently displays 1 point and LV0. Same thing on a tablet I currently use for flying mavic, although there are less flights (and so shorter time and distance) there.
