So today here I am on Mothers Day flying my Pro when I notice a flock of Pigeons flying in front of me, I turn around and move away and then it happens, one hits the Pro and the drone stops dead mid air, I decided to be like a wounded dog and duck but then the flock decides to make a come at me, put it in Sports mode and kicked it away. Brought the Pro down while they were Circling me like Vultures, did a check and saw all good. Put the Pro back up and hit sport mode and decided to give them a run for their wings

I mean like I said not 100% sure but there are a lot of birds including hawks and they seem to stay clear. Have even chased some hawks away. What was crazy is I was flying at our sports park last weekend and there was a giant eagle circling around so of course my curiosity I fly pretty close to it. I know not a good idea but anyway it decided not to stick around and slowly flew away. I probably would of not done this without the decal to be honest. That eagle was freaking huge.
Suren,
Lucky you.
The primary reason why flocks of pigeon fly in a circle is because it helps them in finding their home.
They are able to sense the magnetic field of the earth and flocks of pigeon form a circle and fly for navigation purposes.
Your MP was just trying to become one of the bunch and fly with the birds.

I will not take a chance with an Eagle, look at what those pigeons doing to me imagine an EAGLE

whew - lucky suren. pigeons are not aggressive but take drones down all the same. It is the birds at the back of the flock who are following the leader - who has time to take last second evasive action which in turn does not leave the poor guy behind to make flight adjustments and then crashes into the drone. watch out for those suckers - they could take you down. also remember a flock of pigeons is many many birds, each one of which a potential critical risk.

Very Lucky glad when it hit me the pro just stopped showing obstacle on the screen,
Yes although not 100% sure it makes a difference I really feel that it does. My place is infested with birds and especially birds of prey. Hey if it makes me feel more confident in flying and more safe against birds than that is all I need to be a bird of prey and fly with confidence
You know it would be interesting to be able to do a comparison of one with and one without but really how could one perform this comparison test? Would be really interesting to see if it really does make a difference without a doubt.

Perhaps if you teamed up with another Mavic Pro pilot, then found some hawks you both could fly around at same time?

Yeah I was thinking only way would be another MP flying same area around some hawks. But do not know anyone else around my area that has a MP.

I am sure DJI would be cool with you buying another MP, then giving it to some one who can fly with you.
