Some customers have reported upgrade problems after A2 new firmware (v2.5) released.

Please follow below instruction to solve these problems.

Step1: Download and install A2 assistant software v1.6. Power on the main controller and connect it to the computer. Open the assistant software, an error warning will pop up.

Step2:  To aviod the re-setting of parameters after upgrade, please export the configurations from Tools page.

Step3:  Still worry about the errors? Forget them all. Go to Tools page and click “Upgrade All”, it will automatically download the latest firmware for main controller and IMU. IMU will be updated first and then is main controller.

During upgrade process, it will firstly upgrade the IMU and then upgrade the main controller.

After upgrade, please pull out the power cable and USB cable, power on the main controller again, connect it to computer, then open the assistant software. Now, you may encounter 2 different problems (in both problems LED will continuously flash red).   

Issue#1:  The main controller is locked .

To solve this problem, please unlock the main controller by clicking golden lock icon on the top right corner of the assistant software and calibrate the IMU afterwards.

Then pull out the power cable and USB cable. Power on the main controller again. Connect it to the computer via USB cable. Open the assistant software, the error will disappear.

Issue#2:  Upgrade failure.

To solve this problem, please follow the instruction below:

1.  Short circuit the F1/F2 ports via a 3pin cable (see below picture).

2.  Connect the main controller to the assistant software. Click “upgrade” and it will download the latest firmware automatically. Once downloaded, please pull out the 3pin cable and click “upgrade” again. Otherwise, the upgrade will fail.

Step4: Upgrade successful. Import the configuration which you have exported before the upgrade (below screenshot).

I did everything you said in the right order and still have all of the errors. My settings will not import. No red LED but four of my eight ESCs are continuously blinking. What a disaster. I don't have any idea what to do.

This does not solve the compass calibration problem!,,,come on dji I have two a2s that I cannot use

I have three A2 flight controllers and they will no longer work after the update to 2.5!

The red LED blinking continuously, when I plug the battery. For some reason I can not calibrate the compass and sometimes, assistant software gives a warning "abnormal compass data".
I can downgrade MC and IMU firmware easily,  but I can't  downgrade GPS/COMPASS firmware.

It makes me nut because I now have 3 A2:s that I cannot use and I can't find a solution to issue.

When I got the red blinking LED, I noticed a red lock icon at the top of the screen. When I clicked on it to see if it would tell me the error, it informed me that the MC was "locked" after the firmware upgrade, and gave me a single option...

"Unlock"

After I did that, and restarted the platform, it allowed me to redefine and re-calibrate everything.

You have to use the new version of the A2 assistant, though.

Hi looking at the screenshots on dji autumns tutorial her gps software is showing version 2.6,and mine is showing 2.4, but the assistant software will not allow me to update the gps,come on autumn do you have a solution? Thanks

GPS PRO PLUS with a loader  version 25.0 and fireware version 2.6. A2 new fireware doesn't support the old version GPS. you can't upgrade your GPS version form 2.4 to 2.6 that means your GPS modul is the old version(GPS PRO)

downgrade  the fireware of A2 back to 2.4, because your GPS modul is the old version which can't support A2 new fireware 2.5.(by the way, you can use the A2 assistant software version 1.4 to downgrade the fireware back to 2.4)

you need to reset the parameter of the A2, ESCs continuously blinking neans that you choose the wrong Mixer Type,the ESCs got the wrong signals from the MC. (I mean you need to rechoose the Mixer type in "basic->Aircraft")

I just needed to reprogram all of my aircraft settings. Don't know why they would not import but it is flying now. In the future I will take screen shots of all of my settings prior to updating the firmware.

hi steph, maybe upgrade fail! do you know how to reupgrade? you can do as follows:

A2 v2.5 firmware does support the GPS PRO.
But you need to make sure the LED firmware version is 2.1, if not, the A2 assistant couldn't read your GPS info, you need to use v1.4 assistant to upgrade the LED to v2.1 at first.

A2 fireware 2.5 does support the GPS PRO(I made a mistake yestaday, actually 2.5 fireware is compliance with the GPS PRO). before you upgrade the fireware of the MC, makesure the LED's version is 2.1, if not,the A2 assistant couldn't read the information of your GPS, or may case problems you guys have met.

Question, does the GPS Pro Plus support Glonass like Phantom 3 / Inspire 1?

When I do the user login via the assistant 1.6, it will not accept my user acct password, I assume its my DJI account that I login with. If I click "forgot" it takes me to a "page not found" on the DJI site. I can login fine here with the same password. I know I'm missing something but have no idea what.... Any suggestions?

Thanks for posting the link. Oddly for me (Atlanta, GA) I get 404 errors when I click on it. I think its a local server issue. I was able to create a new identity with another email address and login with the new A2 assistant. I downloaded the firmware and installed it, then worked through the various recalibrations and I think I am good. Will do test flight in a little while. Note that if you are not logged into the A2 assistant with an account, it will still let you create an export file but the file will not have correct data. (Yes, from personal experience.) I had to add back all my settings manually. A good export file reads about 2k in windows 7. The one I created without being logged in was only 1K and freaked out the controller when I imported it. I am looking forward to the new controls on the zenmuse gimbals... Oh, and my GPS is the pro plus version.

Assistant software 1.4 is not recognizing  any upgrades??  what am i missing?  Can't find the upgrade download either.

Where is Assistant Software v1.6 ???
