Finally got a proper change to use the Osmo Mobile 2 on a short family break. Thought i would share it... The trip was in Wales, UK - wonderful part of the country.
(its via Dropbox as Youtube will stop me using 'real' music...
Shot using Samsung S7, with a combination of; - Samsung camera, especially the 240fps slow motion
- DJI Go App
- Filmic Pro
It was edited using Kinemaster for Android which is an excellent editing app, although limited not being able to edit 4K. (It is on a smartphone afterall!)
Thoughts;
Overall, i love the Osmo Mobile 2! All i wanted was to improve the videos i shoot of the family, no more shaky handheld footage etc. It certainly does that. I love the motion time lapse. The battery life is great.
The DJI app - needs work for Android. It certainly kills the battery.
Perfecting the 'gimbal ninja walk' takes practice and... i need more practice. Hit the sweet spot whilst running and the footage is amazing. I noticed that watching footage on your smartphone can be more forgiving than watching on a proper TV screen -so be aware, what looks smooth may not be so smooth. I even passed the OSM2 to my kids (who are 7/5) and they managed it no problems!
I would love a standby mode - the OSM2 is either on or off! Plus i need a clever way of storing the OSM2 on the move, swapping for my camera and vice versa.
