I went to the movies this weekend and saw the movie Breaking In.   I won't give a review of the movie, because that's not what this post is about.  This is about the DJI Spark that was used in the movie.

It was prominently displayed flying through the house.  The controller was showns clearly, and in one scene you could even see the DJI logo on the aircraft.
Here is my only problem with this.  In the movie, that thing was damn near silent.  Now, i'm aware that hollywood is gonna do it's thing, and i'm cool with it.  I mean, my friends and I have laughed for hours on end at the incorrect IT jargon that 'the tech guy' uses in movies.  It's normally comedy for us, and most of the time makes no sense.  But that silent Spark was like a slap in the face.  And then the questions..  "hey, why isn't yours that quiet?" and so on and so forth...  WHY HOLLYWOOD??  WHY??

I agree with your title. And users need to know well about drone before flight so they won't imitate the wrong operation. Thanks for sharing your point.

No different from being a 'gun guy' and all of the claptrap Hollywood comes out with firearms; never ending magazines, 300m head shots with a handgun, completely silent guns when fitted with a 'silencer' yadda yadda yadda.

that's a heavy question.  On most days, I live in the real world.  But there are days that I... oh, uh.. nevermind.  Yeah.  real world.  but that doesn't answer the question.  the question is why?
seriously, it seemed to me to be an unnecessary illusion.

yeah, i'm not what you would consider a Gun Enthusiast, but i know a few things about firearms.  I catch myself going, "oh, he's out.  wait... did anyone see him reload?  that's a Sig with a stock mag.  He was out of bullets 4 shots ago!!"

And the silencer is hilarious.  even better...  shooting through the pillow and the shot can't be heard.  But that is what I mean.  Hollywood does this, and then people go and buy these things and are SOOOOOOOO terribly different.

WAIT.  STOP.  are you TRYING to ruin my childhood?  You mean laser beams don't go PEW PEW??  next you'll be telling me that hand held laser guns aren't real, and i can't actually set my phaser to stun.

And if you mention my light saber, we are going to blows.  I'm just saying.

Gee, what age is acceptable to own and fly a drone?  I didn't check before I purchased it.
