What is the status of compatibility with dji and Pixel 2?

I've used a Pixel 2 to fly the Spark. Works excellent.

I need an new phone and want to use it with Spark (just bougt). The list are old phones, I don't want to by an old phone.
Doubting between Pixel 2 or Huawei P20 Pro, want to use the RC with OTG cable, what do you advice?

Wifi. I don't use the cable with my Spark.

Samsung devices are optimized running Android for DJI GO 4. Pixel 2 is a compatible device and should work just fine?

I have been using Spark and Pixel 2 for about 1 month. I do get frequent "Weak Image Transmission" errors. Even when the aircraft is within 100-200 ft of the controller. I have tried adjusting the antenna, reinstalling the app, updating, turning on airplane mode, and all the other suggested fixes and I still get the error.  All my firmware is current, and I have not tried the OTG cable hack.  

The Spark-Pixel 2 seems to work other than this error.  Google Pixel 2 is the native android phone, I wish DJI would research and make it compatible. For some reason Pixel 2XL is on the list of compatible devices but the regular size Pixel2 is not??
