Just updating the app now ( 400MB )
Wondering if anyone has flown their drone using this version yet, If there are any issues etc?

Frank, please use the latest version of app as it optimize some features. And you can always contact us if you encounter any problem with the new app.

Hi Elektra, just noticed when going through the new terms and conditions, when you get to the bit about allowing DJI to use mobile data, gps, etc it says 'DJI STICKLY follows the DJI Privacy Policy' It should be strictly not stickly

is this for iOS also, im still running 4.2.14 with no sign of an update

I just updated. It can take some time to appear in the AppStore.
With this update I needed to give permissions all over again. I will make a test flight later.

First test flight was without OTG (was a long time I flown without the OTG cable) and it was a little disaster. Connectivity between iPhone and the RC was very bad. Home Point could not be set, the camera view was like 15 seconds behind or just black screen, ...

With the OTG cable it worked like a charm.

So I'm not sure if it has anything to do with the WiFi connectivity between iPhone and RC, or with this update.

Ugh.  I was hoping the new update would lessen the live feed lag and delay for iOS.  Two weeks ago it was great (iPhone 8, no otg) but when the .14 update hit all of a sudden my live transmissions became laggy and choppy.

In all honesty my experience when not using OTG is so random sometimes good sometimes bad so I just stick with OTG now

Personally I never use OTG with iPhone and never have an issue.

I’m wearing an Apple Watch, so maybe this could give some interruptions.
But I feel a lot safer with OTG cable.

Yes, a mavic user found a RTH problem.
I tried it on a Ipad mini 4 with GPS.
After a second time selecting the option RTH for the controller, i got the fault also : weak signal for the GPS.
The RTH option for the AC was still working.
It was a little bit random.

So it is maybe better to use the default : RTH on the AC.
And check if you got the message that the RTH was updated.
Everything else works fine for me (spark-otg-ipad mini 4).

I just came back from the field, testing this latest version 4.2.16 and I can say that after doing two flights there were three disconnections (reconnecting after 3 or 4 seconds). Strangely in one of them the Spark was 5 meters away from me. Which makes me believe that the problem does not have to be with the length of the distance. I did not have the courage to fly more than 120 meters of altitude. DJI, fix this, please! 4.2.12 was the best version I used.

Not sure if this is a real problem or not,  I'm normally with in a few 100 and a around 100 feet up.  Today the screen is glitchy and loses connection then starts auto return to home.  I have been much further out in this location and never an issue.  Today signal is lost and I'm no more than 200' away and a little over 100' up.  I should not be losing connection when I'm so close and line of sight.

It is the same for me.
Before the upgrade I was flying  for over 1km in distance (CE mode) without any issues or lag.
Now, after 30 meters I got the "Weak image transmission signal". Something clearly wrong with the update...

1km is really good on CE lol what is your setup to achieve that?

Nothing. Completely stock.
I just make sure I change the frequency to 2.4 and select the channel with less noise manually.
And the flight is in an open field.

Nice, do you have your phone in aeroplane mode? I have not tried doing that yet  but I have read it does help.

I always take off in 'Airplane Mode' and what happens is signal interruption in flight, often.
The message "NO SIGNAL" appears on the screen.

In version 4.2.12 this has never occurred.
* I use CE mode too.

I hope DJI will fix this soon.

Dear Elektra, why saying please use the latest version? since on release note of the Spark. latest version is 4.1.22???
Higher then 4.1.22 has only Mavic stuff.
Which optimize features are there for Spark?
Reading this forum, all problems started after 4.1.15(lost OTG).
Please ask the enigineers if the can release a Spark only Go4 version. The GO apps are growing and growing, now 400 mb, 4.1.15 has only 99 mb.

Agreed, I also find it is more efficient to Sync flights uninstall the app then install it fresh. For some reason it takes up less space but also I have had problems in the past where the photos would only show the small thumbnail, when you clicked on them it was just blank. I also am unable to take Spheres, they just don't save anywhere lol

I think it has been much better.
The release notes are as usual useless.

I also encounter some strong video lag even if the Spark is nearby. Lost connection onces at my favorite spot nearby where I never experienced any disconnections.  So this update definitely did not improve my Spark experience. Please fix this!

For me it was the auto update apps option in iOS that I left “on” by mistake...

Updated to latest version 4.2.16

Spark- started getting "Aircraft Disconnected" warnings a bunch, ATTI mode, but I could still fly it no problem. It would work a bit, then same thing. No matter how distant or close. Even got the disconnect on the next battery when I armed the props for takeoff.

Had one disconnect warning on my Mavic Pro. Never got a warning on MP before ever

same location, afternoon/evening.

4.2.16 does not indicate any performance updates for Spark in particular only meant for P4P and Mavic Air, Why then does it affects the SPARK? DJI??

I sincerely thanks the brave forumers that initiate the 4.2.16 testing.

Will DJI takes responsibility for accidents with the new firmware?
