So I’m encountering a funny issue with the CineSSD whilst using the Inspire II.

Can some explain why the drive ejects itself randomly whilst idle for a while.

You can pull the Media directly from the reader without seeing a disk eject error.

I’m using Silverstack to generate my backups, and this does fail when the card is pulled out. Just a strange observation.

Can someone shed some light on this to put my mind at ease. Very unsettling to have Media that can eject itself without prompting and leave no error or warning message.

Cheers,
P

This happens to me all the time on my Surface Book 2. It will automatically eject after a few seconds of inactivity. I haven't tried it on my new iMac Pro yet. I wonder if it's a bug.

1) Check cabling, try different cable if possible.

2) Mac: System Preferences / Energy Saver / Power Adapter tab: check the "Prevent computer from sleeping automatically when the display is off" checkbox. This is known to cause some thunderbolt or USB devices to mysteriously disconnect.
