So last week I took my little drone and set it to take hi-res pictures every 5 seconds (almost 9 minutes taking pictures). While I took off and set the composition, I spent like 2 minutes, then it took 105 pictures until, well, the battery went drained.

This is the result:

I was 15 minutes in the air:
4 minutes taking off, then I took a 360 panoramic picture, compose the sunset and start shooting pictures ever 5 seconds.


including shooting and landing it was 11 minutes more

Well, you asked, I deliver =)

First from the drone, just all picture settings in auto, make sure you have RAW + JPG so you pick all RAW photos to color grade them in Lightroom.

Because there was no important change on the light, I decide to apply the changes on my first picture to all other ones. I exported them to a new folder, so I can keep the originals in case of any further change.


Then I used Premiere File import, check Image sequence and I will automatically create a short sequence. You may consider set it to 5-6 seconds long.

Now some effects: Scale it from about 140 % at the beginning to 100% at the end. Apply the Warp stabilization effect to soft the shaking effect caused by the movement of the drone.

Finally add sound from a royalty free library or add narration and that’s all, export it and share it.


Now regarding the experience, I would keep in mind:

• Check the sunset times for your city so you should be on time before the shooting
• Make sure your battery is 100% charged,
• Firmware up to date for both DJI Go, mobile, controller and drone.
• Set the picture composition and change the shooting settings to every 5 seconds.
• Monitor the battery level to land the drone on time.
