Took my P4 out on the lake this past weekend, and I was unable to connect to the AC.  Go 4 App said disconnected and at the very bottom in red, it said "Gimbal Status = Gimbal Disconnected".  When we got back to the parking lot, I tried again and everything worked.  My only thought, was I did not have cellular service out on the water?  Is there a work around this issue?  I use a wifi only iPad Air 2.

Something on the boat could have been interfering with it. Did you try and launch it from the boat when you at the parking lot or dock when you had service to see if started there?

No i didn't try that, but that's a good point.  It's an all aluminum fishing boat.  In the past, if I had interference, it would give me a warning message.  What I was experiencing was no connection to the AC at all.

Do you have access to the boat to test it out?

Good thing for you.  Compass would have probably gone crazy and you probably would have lost it.

Yeah that doesn't sound good.  Maybe I'll just fly from the shore ;)

Being on the boat, the boat being aluminium, and having no cell connection would all have had no effect on not being able to connect or the gimbal disconnected message.
That everything worked soon after onshore suggests that it's a one-off glitch or an intermittent problem that could have shown up anywhere.

Hi there, whether there is cellular service will not affect the take-off. If the error message appears again, please try to toggle the gimbal dial to see whether the gimbal camera responded.
