A video I put together regarding the firmware issue on the Mavic Air.  Thought some might find it helpful instead of reading through all the threads trying to figure out what's going on.

Also, someone asked me a good question on my YouTube Channel.  Anyone know if DJI is sending out product (Mavic Air) to new customers with this firmware, or an older version which still works?  DJI, any insight here?

Interesting.  I'm just now seeing a NEW VERSION of the DJI GO4 App just released 6 days ago (VERSION 4.2.16).    In MAVIC AIR section it says; "Added Additional Warning Messages when Propeller blades are getting iced up in low-temperature environments".

This is the DJI GO4 APP update and NOT the firmware update but find it interesting about them mentioning additional warning messages and the propellers.

I also have had no issues with the Mavic Air. I have done all updates as they become available. I also use android (galaxy s8 +) and I Pad mini 4 wifi only.

Good video, my wife already updated the FW and so far no issues and if there was, boy I would have heard about it and would still be hearing about it.

No, the firmware issue is not yet fixed.  The firmware update and DJI GO4 App update are two separate things.   Yes, I've been following that other thread as well.  Lots of users still experiencing issues.  No updates (software or firmware) until I know all this is resolved.

yeah, that's the best bet.  I had my Mavic Air for just over 2 weeks when the new firmware was released.  as an engineer, I should have known to wait until others tested it out.  As a kid with a new toy, I didn't wait.  I loaded and have had my share of issues.  After multiple refreshes, and resets and start fresh sessions, my Mavic air is close to the way it used to be.  It flies stable, and I've finally gotten back to being able to fly around 1000 feet away without problems.  It has not been a fun month for flying, but I'm hopeful that they release an update soon.

Great video and thanks for the heads up. My Mavic Air just got delivered today, so I'll let you know which version they're shipping out on a new device once I get off of work.

Mine shipped with version V01.00.0300 out of the box, with a notification to update to V01.00.0400. Is there anyway to just not update and still be able to take off?

You can still fly.  Just ignore the request to update.  Just hit CANCEL/IGNORE for now.  The prompts to update are annoying but can be ignored.

I've added this thread to my own, which is trying to compile a list of all the threads detailing issues with the MA, and now also seemingly the MP:

Threads detailing SERIOUS issue with Mavic Air FW v01.00.0400

The other problem with being a successful engineer, is you keep trying and trying and trying.  And trying.
Instead of returning the problem product for a refund!

And still trying.

@HedgeTrimmer.  This is the mentality  "This machine will not beat me.  I will not lose.  I am better than this hardware!"

That mentality has cost me many, many, many hours.  But it has also afforded me some of the best professional wins in my life!!
