Having decided to try a little close-quarter flying in confined spaces, I visited the remains of a watermill beside the Colmont river.
This led to a chance meeting with an elderly fisherman of the parish, who remembered the mill in better days, in his youth.
Most of it now lies in the mud along the riverbank, the millrace and the workings have long since disappeared.

Looks ok and you get in close  have you tried narrow sensing  ? just watch out for the trees... they  can reach out and grab you when you least expect it , my P4 regularly comes back  with green prop tips

Thanks ghutch. It's the first time I've tried anything quite so confined. My concentration was taxed, and I only noticed the old (older than me!) guy stood behind me, watching, after I brought the bird back to my side of the stream.

I trimmed a bit off the top of a privet hedge in our garden, a while back, when first getting to grips with the controls.  Heart-stopping moment.    After 12 months continual practice I'm a bit more confident.

Hi HG. No wildlife was harmed in the making of this video
The guy came walking up the riverbank with just the fishing rod and no other gear than he was carrying.
We chatted for a while, but he only tried briefly at several points whilst crossing the bridge, and on the far bank, before continuing upstream. Maybe he knew a good spot further up, to fish from.  Angling bores the pants off me, so I left him to it

Thanks Pete.  Fortunately, the cantonniers had just been through and strimmed the whole area clear of  foliage. At some times of year it's very overgrown.

There wasn't quite a weir under the bridge this time
Not much left but mill ruins. There are a few along that stretch of the river near Brecé.
I always try to stay out of shot.
