After the last update I have still a compass that is a little bit jumpy on the radar.
On an IOS device it is working perfect.

I did a lot of calibrations, but no luck.

Are there CS devices around where this compass is working better (like the IOS devices) ?

Or I have to wait for a fix from DJI ?

Be glad its only ''a little bit jump''.  Only  time mine isn't jumping around is when CS-Ub is setting on solid surface.

Are you running V02.06.06.00 now? Do you mean the attitude indicator in the APP moves erratically? Did you try to restore the CrystalSky in the factory default to see if the problem persists? If yes, any chance to take a short video so that we could escalate to our engineers for further analysis? Thank you.

Yes, yes.

I already send the short video on another topic.

I also tried other apk-compass software (several).
These does not work, same bad results on the CS.
On my android phone these software does work.

I start to think it is the compass hardware of the CS.
Do you have some kind of usb compass stick to plug-in ?

I already send the short video on another topic.

First the sound of the fan when moving the CS (on mine it is ok), than the jumping of the compass with the map and also with the radar.
On this video it was very bad, on other ocasion it was better, it getting worser when the device is hot and the fan is on (like in this video).

If you got an usb-stick compass and it would solve the problem, I would buy it...

Try clicking on the tiny little padlock in corner of box located on the right side of screen that holds map and "red" triangle.


If that does not work.  You will need to rotate your drone, while flying, to match both up.

Sorry to have kept you waiting, per our engineers, it is recommended to update the DJI Go 4 to V4.2.20 to see if the issue persists.
1. While there is an update available for the built-in DJI GO/DJI GO 4 App, you will see a "Download" icon appear as below( CrystalSky needs to be connected to the internet first): 1.png
2. Click "Me" and it will pop up the release note of new DJI GO/DJI GO 4 App.

I did try to update to version .20 (I am on version .16).
But I got the message back "Lasted version now", I am still on version .16.
I have CS 5.5, is this update not yet on the server, so only for CS 7.8 ?

It is maybe a region issue, Europe the last in the row.

I started a new thread, to see if there is somebody that has more luck.

It would be nice if you could download the file from site and update it from SD card.
And downgrade with the old file if it was not working for you.

This is not available in USA either. I try everyday still says .16 is the latest version. When can we expect .20 on the crystal sky?

Barry, there is a server glitch at this moment and our engineers are working on it, I will let you know once it is fixed, sorry for the inconvenience caused.

I never assumed it was correct. I just asked when they learned of the glitch and pasted the email that was sent to me.  Sounds to me like they need some better communication with their front line support.

Yes, I could also download it and install it.
It is working ok so far I can see, the compass is a little bit better I think.
It is still not an "Ipad" experience...
I will check it tomorrow, it is already dark here, we may not fly in the dark over here.

I found a new option: if you do a factory reset, it will go back to the previous version .16.
Maybe I was "lucky", maybe you can now always go back to the previous version or at least for a test-period. So I had to install the update again.

Mindy : DJI should communicate better to us about the things you build in and the fixes you do. Do we have a rollback option in the factory-reset ?

About the compass :

I did find out that the compass does works better if you keep the monitor horizontal.
So, if I want to know the orientation of the drone I keep CS for a moment horizontal (flat).
It works for me.

In the calibration, the second part, the vertical calibration is not working properly.
Maybe this will give some clues for your engineers.

Saw that about 10-minutes ago, when calibrating compass of Cs-Ub.
Plan to try Re-calibrating both Cs-Ub and MPP in different area.  That I know has zilch for sources of magnetic field interference.
