Hi all

So.....have a question for you to ponder on/help out with. We have been experimenting with flying our drones underground with fairly good results so far in a range of environments. However we're trying to work on extending our range capability. At the moment we have been using a P4 Pro but are considering going smaller with somthing like a Mavic Pro. I'm wondering what would be best in terms of signal strength between using a Spark, Mavic Pro or Mavic Air and how their range of connections would vary in this kind of environment (small concrete tunnels basically). Also how their range may vary once you throw some turns in the tunnel etc. Has anyone tried this themselves yet?

Thanks in advance.

Chris

Hi Chris, it is not recommended to fly the drone in a tunnel as the GPS signal might be blocked. Flight safety is always the top priority.

Hi Susan
Thanks for your comment. We are fully aware of the fact that GPS will not work in a tunnel and have been testing this with GPS off and all sensors off also.

Hi Chris,
Have you gained any additional info on this?  I have the same interest.

How about the Mavic Pro 2 with Bottom Light?
"The Downward Vision System and Infrared Sensing System helps the aircraft maintain its current
position and hover in place more precisely and to fly indoors or in other environments where a GPS
signal is unavailable. In addition, the Auxiliary Bottom Light located on the underside of the aircraft
improves visibility for the Downward Vision System in weak light conditions."
