Maiden Flight..Almost lost the drone

So today i purchased another DJI Mavic Pro as i have gifted my previous one.

After upgrading and charging the battery i went for a smooth test flight ( i am well aware that maiden flights should be treated as maiden flights with extra attention)

The drone was beeping every now and then but without any error messages on screen, at 30% i have brought the drone, i was flying only 300-400 meters away just to be safe...now just as i was landing the battery dropped from 23% to 15% and then 9,8,7,6 and 3%. Now, this incremental drops took place in just 5-10 seconds..so it is impossible that the drone actually depleted the battery in such abnormal way.

Finally, the battery was cooking hot as soon as i have landed and it looks a bit swollen...

What i should do ? Return the drone ? I want to avoid this but again i dont want to risk damaging the drone from a free fall...

Sounds like a shorted battery and/or drone. Best not to use it and get a replacement.

That does not seem normal at all.

Has the swelling gone down after it is cooled off?

Maybe try that battery in another drone to see if the battery is malfunctioning or your drone.

This is a hard one to test because you don't want to damage more components trying to isolate the issue. It might be wise to send it all back in and start with a new setup.

If one (or more) of batteries inside the Smart Battery Pack swelled enough to deform plastic of Pack; I would not fly with Pack at all.

You should attempt through the retailer as will probably be much easier.  If they will not do anything then go through DJI.

Recharge the battery power it up and simply hover in place and watch to see if another draining pattern happens again?

I have recharged it and just hovered... nothing abnormal up to now guys.

I have tried to use DJI Support, it is pathetic couldn't even communicate in basic English...very bad support for such great products.
