Here's a couple of shots of Parys Mountain on Anglesey an old copper mine, I cant wait to go back after some rain to see how the colors vary.

4000 years of pollution makes quite a mess!

Don't think it looks much different in the wet, but it might when the heather is in flower, and you should probably choose early or late in the day to show some depth in the valleys and pits.

One of the worlds main sources of copper for 4000 years up to the beginning of last century, at times the main source.  For the last 100 years it has been left for the wildlife to reclaim but it is so polluted that most of it is still bare rock.   There are plans to reopen it when the price of metals increases a bit, still large amounts of copper, lead, zinc, gold and silver in the ground.

Ross Poldark should maybe have moved further north

They have Tin down there, from the bronze age onwards there was a need for both tin and copper, bronze being an alloy of the two, but yes, the Cornish would have been a lot more wealthy if Parys Mountain hadn't existed!

The mining on the Great Orme at Llandudno must have been contemporary with that on Anglesey, then? Around the Bronze age.

Yes, thought to have been the same group of people, however the Great Orme was probably first to be developed since it is quite easy to mine, only needing deer antlers for digging, while Parys Mountain is extremely hard rock where the rock had to be smashed up with hammers or cracked into pieces using fire and then crushed to get a worthwhile amount of copper out of it, so would have needed the development of a fair amount of mining technology before it was viable.  The Bronze age lasted a long time.
