Hi everyone,
I'm trying to decide between an Ipad 6th Gen (2018 model) vs Ipad mini 4, for a monitor on my Mavic Air.  The new Ipad 6th gen has a higher NIT rating (511 vs 450), but the 6th gen iPad does not have a laminated screen like the iPad mini 4 has.  The Ipad 6th gen has the newer faster processor and came out this year whereas the iPad mini 4 is 3 years old and possibly being discontinued.  Has anyone had experience with both?  Which one will be easier to see in direct sunlight?  Is there a better alternative for around the same price, Android or apple?
I would be very grateful for any help  :-)

Only bad thing about the Larger 9.7" is you need a mount for it where as the iPad Mini will fit in the controller.  But I agree I would probably go with the larger screen anyway.  However if you want the best I would say get the CrystalSky as the screen is MUCH brighter and well was made for DJI Drones.  You are talking 1000+ NIT depending on the model you get.  If I was going to spend the money on a dedicated screen for my Mavic Pro it would be the Crystal Sky.
One interesting fact is the CrystalSky uses their own version of android where as anything else you do want to make sure is IOS.

If you want to see how actually bright the CS is I created a thread here asking to have it compared to other devices.  Night and day difference really nothing else compares.  If you want a screen you will be able to see clear as day no matter how bright it is outside only the CS will suffice.  The iPad's struggle when really bright  https://forum.dji.com/thread-147271-1-1.html

Thank you, everyone, for your replies.  For me and my needs, while it appears excellent in terms of brightness, the CrystalSky monitor is just too expensive for a device I can only use on my drone.  Especially as the 5.5 inch model is too small for my eyes, and being from Aus we also seem to pay a premium compared to the US :-(
I am concerned about the ability of the Ipad Mini 4, with its slower processor, to have the grunt to handle the DJI app with future updates.
So at this stage, I am leaning towards the latest Ipad 9.7inch, with it's faster processor and slightly brighter screen.  I am a little concerned whether the lack of a laminated screen will make a difference to visibility in the bright sun?
