Hi,

I'm going to Russia next weeks and anyone knows if it's possible - following rules like avoid military places, airports, crowds?
I found some threads around web but it's now clear and Russia regulations changed and I couldn't find detais.

thanks

Juvinski, you can try to check the drone regulations on the official web. https://www.dji.com/flysafe?site=brandsite&from=footer
Or you can try to contact the local administrators. Hope the local pilots can also provide you with some info.

In short - in Russia, the use of drones is problematic enough. It is necessary to obtain permission to use airspace. Penalty for lack - 3000-5000 rub ($ 50-80)
A sufficiently long bureaucratic procedure, well described by an air modeler from Kaliningrad. (Russian language)

I found this:
"[size=14.666666984558105px]Dated 27 sept 2017, after the new laws on drones in 5 July 2017, it says that registration is compulsory but not in effect until they have their act together. The laws are in place but "there is still no drone registration process at this point because a regulation on the registration process has yet to be approved"

[size=14.666666984558105px]"Currently, UAV registration is regulated by Federal Law No 291 of 3 July, 2016 On Amending the Aviation Code of the Russian Federation. According to amendments to Article 33, unmanned civilian vehicles weighing between 250 grams and 30 kg must be registered. This regulation came into effect on 5 July 2017, which means that all flying equipment from drones to radio controlled toy helicopters and planes must now be registered[size=14.666666984558105px]...

Despite the Federal Law having entered into force, there is still no drone registration process at this point because a regulation on the registration process has yet to be approved. [size=14.666666984558105px]But a draft resolution has been developed and is being prepared for the Ministry of Justice and the Russian Government.

Registration is not an issue at the moment, although there is a law requiring it, as mentioned above. But there are regulations apart from registration. Check out my comment here: https://forum.dji.com/forum.php? ... 248&fromuid=1666824
Also since the 2018 FIFA World Cup is approaching, there is a presidential decree on security measures which although doesn't mention drones, effectively abrogates some of the provisions of the Constitution (don't be surprised about such things in Russia) allowing the police to confiscate anything they want, including drones.

In short, it is hard like HELL to get a permission also for russian citizens, I really doubt foreigner can get a permission, considering a FIFA 2018 time.
