My previous drone, a Phantom 3 standard is now gone    as replacement, I am considering moving up to the Phantom 4 series
just not sure if the cost difference between the 4 and the 4 Pro is worth it !  At this point I am a recreation droner, but am in process of getting my Remote Pilot Certification.
Any advise regarding 4 pro vs the 4?   Thank you.

The 4 Pro is the sweet spot at the moment (IMHO), has a much improved camera compared to the standard 4.

Phantom 4 Pro v2.0 has a lot of the bugs worked out. The craft is essentially perfect. What needs work are the options, like the Crystal Sky display. I have the impression it's CPU is running on the edge and it has problems when the weather gets above 65°F. But the aircraft itself is stellar.

Phantom 4 Pro for sure.

P4P hands down. It's like comparing a P3P to a P2VP

Just as the P4 pro is.
The original P4 pro didn't have any bugs that needed to be worked out.
The P4 pro v2.0 is simply a minor update to the P4 pro.

The main difference is the camera which is a huge improvement.
The other differences are relatively minor and don't make a huge difference in usability.

Go for the P4P and be up to speed. The camera is the main difference and it is a great upgrade.

Phantom 4 Pro  20 mgapixel camera...5 sides obstacle avoidance, and can do very well with Mapping.

Phantom 4 Pro V2.......not yet updated to use 3rd party mapping apps!!!!!

I would have to say the P4 Pro,  NOT....NOT the + version is the way to go.

For essentially the same price I decided to go with the Phantom 4 Pro 2.0. This is my first DJI and my first drone ever. Very happy with my purchase. I ran another couple of batteries through it again this evening. The selling points for me were the updated propulsion system and props (which are actually quieter as advertised) and the OcuSync technology. Just my $0.02 from this n00b. Yes, I admit it.
