Some guy approached me just as I was finishing my flights and very directly told me I was flying in a NFZ.
He pulled out Airmaps App on his iPhone and showed me how the icon was red.
It is true most of downtown San Diego is a NFZ, however when I asked him to zoom in on the place where we were standing, it showed a corner of Coronado Island was indeed a 400 Ft ceiling with ATC Notification.
He continued to challenge me, but backed down and walked away as his wifey was shooting him dirty looks.

Nice video. Was there any hassle giving notifications  to the local airports there? I so want to fly down there.

Nobody answers the number posted in Airmaps, but if you look them up in the FAA's airport directory, there is a number with a human on the other end.  No hassle, just told em where I was going to fly, they said thank you.

This is GREAT information.  I'll be in San Diego in a few weeks and was wondering about this myself.  I know that almost all of Coronado is off limits given the amount of sensitive traffic in that area, so to know that authorization can be obtained just put my drone back in my bag!

I was going to say aren't you a bit close to the air station but other people already said so. If you go north here is the commercial airport. Too bad , this is a great area for flying.
