I have a Standard 3 with DJI Go app version 3.1.34 and I do not appear to have the flight simulator. I am using a Lg g2 phone and when I go to the top right corner instead of a graduation hat I see 3 lines horizontal lines (menu) and when I select it academy pops up but when I click on it nothing happens.

any ideas? should there always be a simulator?

I have alrady seend that video and my DJI version 3.1.34 doesn't have that menu.

Where is the simulator? Does it matter what type of phone I have?

The iOS version of the sim has the hilly terrain which is sort of better than the flat terrain in the android version however, choice of different viewing perspectives are not present in the iOS version. Also, the android versions of the sim is nearly unplayable when flying unless you have a top of the line display device. When I first flew the android sim my impression was that I was rollerskating on ice so I upgraded to iOS.   

I am not able to find or run the simulator on my DJI GO application. The screen only shows "academy" Can anyone tell me why?

Tab on academy and the pop up menu shows up the simulator. Then tab the simulator.

When you say tab if you look at my screen shot you can see Academy. I can't click on Academy. There is nothing else on the screen other than Academy

Tab on <Academy> ,then you get the menu for flight simulator,video academy,flight tutorial and users manual. Tab on flight simulator <Enter> and power on your P3S system.
On my MpMan and iOS is it available. May be your phone does it not handle.

Please refer to Peterx's suggestion, click "Academy" then you will be able to enter the simulator. Please keep the drone and RC connected when using the simulator.
If there is no reaction after clicking it, since the latest app is v3.1.38, you can try to update the app and test again.

If I have the drone and controller off should I be able to pull up the menu?

What android version is on your phone? RAM and CPU can handle the app easy. Do you have any other apps running in the back round?
If yes then force to stop all for flight NOT needed apps,and then start the Go app.

Sorry to know that it doesn't work after upgrading the app. It can be pulled out the menu after clicking the menu. In your case, you might try another mobile device and see if it is a compatibility issue.

Does anyone have a visual demo of this version. My screen does not match what is shown on the youtube sites. Mine has 3 lines followed by "academy" when clicked but others have graduation hat.

Since it works in flight is there any diagnostic checks or parameters that might effect the flight simulator? i don't have any other apps running when I try to engage the flight simulator. Also I would like to know if I can expect a menu to appear even if the Drone is not on?

If the drone is off then the simulator give a message to power on your AC.

That is strange. I do not get the menu and I tried it on a Lgg3 and I get almost the same thing except it adds "flight restrictions" below "academy"

Does your menu look like mine?

The best way to practice with a flight SIM is buy one.

How does your screen look one step before you enter the academy section, does it look anything like the one OP has posted several times down the thread?
And to be clear, you just tap/poke/press the academy link to enter the above screen right? - no swipes, dragging or other fancy messing around on the display.

Exactly as you say,its a step further than enter academy,but i dit it with my iPkone6 for iOS  and on MPQC for Android. I did´nt swipe screen to tab above right to reach these menu .

Compared to my post the screen capture shows only a small rectangle in the top right but Peterx shows "academy" as a banner across the top part of the screen. So that is what i should see? He is running IOS I am running Android.

If so is there an official supported device or operating system? I am running Lolipop on lgg2. I would be surprised as I am not loosing any functionality that I am aware when flying only the simulator.

That is because Peterx's screenshots is taken after he tapped/poked/pressed the Academy button/link shown in your pictures.
I don't know if your device lack of compatibility but usually you'll find a list of tested and recommended devices in the download section of your model, see end of the specs here.

The first screen shot was from iOS 11.4 and the second shot from a not listed device MPQC96i with Lollypop. I ´m do use both iOS and android. Android i´m using in a rural area and iOS in the near of  area with known interferences,iOS WIFI is stronger a little bit.
