Since upgrading the app I regularly get black areas that obscure the screen during flight - it comes up from the bottom of the video feed and usually seems to happen just when you need it most - ie. when trying to track a moving object - here is an example (sorry about the quality):
I wonder if anyone else has had this? andy any suggestions at to what I should look at.
Ive been unable to find a corrolation with processer temperature, processor usage, RAM usage ...
(the proximity wanings on the video are nothing to do with the problem)
Recently I changed to iOS, and dd not test the latest android version.
Hope this helps.
Btw, you can always revert to an older go4 version to see if it solves you problem

Same kind of problems I had on android before on a certain version. It was fixed in a later version. There is a thread here.
Thanks - I just tried upgrading to 4.2.20 (looks like it came out yesterday) and if anything it's worse. As far as I know the Nexus 7 2013 is still on the list of supported devices. There is nothing else running on the tablet.

Thanks - you may be right - Ive just downgraded to DJI Go4 4.1.22 (after trying a few 4.2.X varaints) - still the same issue.
How does one downgrade the Aircraft and RC ?
You can use either dji assistant 2 or the go4 app. on the app press and hold down the 3 lines at the top right of the app and it will give you an option to update, select the drop down box and choose an older firmware example 0100, ensure your rc and drone has enough battery power and let it update. on a computer plug drone into pc with usb cable and dji assistant will pick up drone then select firmware and update.

Thanks - I'll give that a try.
Ive tried my phone (LG G5) in place of the nexus 7. All works OK - so I can only assume its an issue between the 01.04.0300 RC and the Nexus 7.
What a pain this has been - hours of poking around - just to get back to a working combination.

I've downgraded the RC and MP to 01.04.0200 and initial tests look good - but I won't really know until I can fly it properly tomorrow (night time here now).

Well 01.04.0200 still exhibited the same problem but not as much - so I downgraded to 01.04.0100 but that just seemed to crash the app after a minute of flight. The app is currently at 4.2.20 - any idea what versions of the app are compatible with what versions of the RC & MP ?

So My Ac is on 0100, Rc 0100 and the app I use all the time is 4.2.16 no issues at all. If you are on Android it is easy to get another version app but if on Ios I dont think you can downgrade.
I factory reset the Nexus 7 and then installed 4.2.16 from APKmirror and I still have 01.04.0100 or the RC and MP - so I will see what flying tomorrow brings.
One point I did notice - there are two variants of 4.2.16 on APKmirror:

Perhaps there is a rendering issue with your device. I have seen such issues predominantly on older smartphones that are on the verge of dying. The best option here will be to get your device deposited to the service center at the earliest
