I jus t got a mavic pro platiunm. i was wondering if the battery on my iphone has to be over 10% for it to connect. and if the service had to 3g or lte?
today i was using the mavic and my battery on my phone was below 10%. So i counldn't connect the mavic to my phone. But was able to launch but counld't see the camera.
but once i got the battery to 20% and service to lte it connect fine.

Hi, Thank you for raising your concern. To clarify, it doesn't need to have a mobile data connection to use your drone unless you are still activating the drone or updating software. We recommend charging everything more than 50 percent before using your device to make sure you will not have issues.  

at 10% or lower it goes into low power mode I believe and are limited on what you can do.  Makes sense it will not work at this point.  For sure recommended to have as much battery as possible.  For me each flight takes anywhere between 10% to 15% iPhone battery.  So you would not even get a full flight in before phone dying.  Not a good idea.

You wouldn't want to connect your phone without sufficient battery power as DJI states in the Mavic Pro manual. The Remote Controller will attempt to charge the phone, but not at a rate to prevent your phone from powering off from low battery warning. You also do not want to use your Mavic Pro or RC without the proper battery levels, either.

RC, flight batteries and iPhone at 100% before I take off on my first flight of the day.

Doesn’t automatically go in to lower power mode but either way, why risk flying it with just 10 % battery anyway? Madness.
