Totally worth it

Pretty much half price.  This is the best 14 bucks you can spend on your quad.  

Apart from Waypoints (which I am very curious about), what is the value-add for Litchi vs. the free Go app?

Great question. I would like to know as well.

I need a refund. That’s a bargain now. Just wish DJI would put it in the go. Or maybe they are going to and Litchi is trying to make the best of it before it happens.

The waypoint missions alone makes it totally worth it.  Not only that but can use any FPV goggles as well.  I bought a cheap $5 pair from walmart and works like a dream.  Those are really the main differences and in my mind totally worth it.  

I think the pano function is better as well.  Way more control and tons of options.  But yeah, totally worth it for the cinematic flights that can be created with waypoints.  I use Litchi a ton on all my drones nowadays..

Then please add waypoints. Litchi proved that they can and do work.

Ok thanks. I have never tried waypoints.

I bought Litchi because the Go 4 app can no longer be used because of the green layers on the map.

First of all its a slim and trim app.  The last version of GO4 (4.2.21) is a whopping 394,656KB in size, Litchi comes in at 83,264KB.  No hand gimbal code etc.  It has built in screen recording, much better pano settings.  Lock exposure assignable to a button for Mavic Air, (can't do that in GO4).
But its missing a few things too like Quickshots (dronie, boomerang and asteroid etc)

I'm in the same boat Woe.  Still trying to understand it.  I may go ahead and pick up the app since it's on sale, but i'll have to learn what it does and a lot more about it before I fly with it.  I've heard only good things about it.

Yup, pre-planning missions in the user friendly Mission Hub is great, I have Litchi for both IOS, Android and on my Crystal Sky. Love it.

Yeah missed the sale   I paid full price and find it well worth it for the missions alone and also can use any FPV goggles with it.  Can only use DJI Goggles with DJI GO 4, no other FPV goggles using DJI GO 4.  Also the viewable video screen on my phone is much better/brighter on my iphone using Litchi compared to DJI GO 4.  I only shoot in D-Log and nearly no color on the screen using DJI GO 4.  Litchi is much better.

From what I understand that's it. Dji go 4 app has all the other features. Before the goggles head tracking was the other advantage.

SparksBird is right - the waypoints are amazing and open up all sorts of possibilities.  You can use the Litchi mission hub in an evening to plot out your flight and just set it loose the next day.

I think it would be a value at twice the going rate.

Waypoints are way better than you could imagine.

It's close to priceless to be able to create detailed missions, with many waypoints, POI's, camera actions, etc and all of it happening so smoothly....and accurately I might add.

With practice you can have specialized missions ready to roll for anywhere you go.

I can't believe a waypoints function isn't already a part of the mavic air. It should be. But for now, this is one of the best options.

I'd love to use a DJI Go app if it included competitive features: Online mission setups, waypoints, etc.

Litchi also is better written code than DJI GO 4.  Notice so many issues with many that run older phones especially with the newer updates.  Slow, choppy, laggy video.  Where litchi still runs without issue even on the older devices.  Many use it for this fact alone.

Meaning when going to fly which app do you fire up?
waypoints are not my style of flying but will admit I am interested.

I know you are not asking me but will respond for what I use it for.  I do usually use DJI GO 4.  But if I want to do waypoints, fly FPV, or am having a hard time during the bright sun seeing the screen I will use Litchi. I always shoot in D-Log and with DJI GO 4 the screen is very flat looking and not bright.  With Litchi you have the option to see the full color on your screen even if shooting in D-Log.   I think the waypoints are absolutely priceless for it;s ability.  To be able to completely plan out a mission ahead of time is just awesome.  Can even test out the mission in google earth before even having to fly it.

Thats fair, however I have the dji goggles so the sun is not an issue .
The ability to plan flights sounds amazing just not for 25 bucks.
I guess I have more research to do.
