You'll need to gain approval from the airport and advise them of your flight plan - they may say no or tell you exactly where you can fly within a certain boundary - gaining approval will be massively enhanced if you have some form of qualification such as the Canadian equivalent of the UK pfco or US part 107. Then you'll need to advise DJI to unlock the geo fence with the time and date you are flying there. Unless you are doing a commercial operation I wouldn't bother TBH as it's a lot of hassle.

When the Geofence is on does it not allow for take off or flight at all?
Depends in which category you are in - red zones will not let you take off at all - even in your house if you live near an airport. Not too sure on yellow zones - they may require an authorisation of some kind. Green zones will just require and acceptance of a pop up disclaimer during flight. Be careful as sometimes the drone will take off then realise it is in a red zone during flight and just land and there is nothing you can do to stop it. I remember seeing a guy watch his Mavic Pro land straight into a lake and that was the reason. Always check airspace regs as sometimes there are temporary no fly zones in place for military operations and VIP's etc.
when flying the app just gives you a warning message that it's a recreational airport. so I'm pretty sure I'm in a green zone because when I look at the map in the corner it's green. also just for clarification when there are no colours that means it fine, right?

That will be fine on both counts - just keep it in VLOS
Hi, so I should be able to fly in a class C airspace right? and since you're also from Canada have you ever flown in a class c airspace? and if so did you have to get permission

On the advice of my attorney, I can't answer that question.
