I am traveling to Ecuador next week and I am planning on bringing my Spark. I heard that drones are subject to import taxes in Ecuador. I am wondering if anyone here brought has traveled there and brought their spark. Did you have to pay? If you did pay, did you get the money back?

Hi thanks for reaching DJI Forum, im pretty sure you are excited to visit Ecuador together with your DJI Spark , good news is In Ecuador, flying a drone is allowed. However, upon entry, substantial import taxes (amount of tax equal to the replacement value of the drone) must be paid. Buying a copter in Ecuador seems to be cheaper. However, you can be exempt from tax if you can prove that you are using your Copter for professional purposes in Ecuador. Hope this helps
