Hi all!

I am a brand new mavic air pilot.

I have some image quality questions...

Is it normal that the photos are this out of focus and noisy?

The third one looks fine, but those first two look atrocious, your MA's camera is better than that. It's almost like the ISO got set to 800+ in the first two pics, somehow. Any idea what the camera settings were for those two?

Agreed - the third one is fine (looks quite good actually) but the first two, whilst the subjects are quite stunning, are very noisy.

These are clearly the cached pictures on your mobile device. Get the originals from the MA internal memory or SD card if you have put one and you wiull be positively surprised. Connect the MA to a PC or Mac, than you can access the original footage.

That is what I was thinking, it must be better than those...

To be honest I have no idea where it was, since I am still learning the drone.
Is there any way to see?
Generally I try to keep it around 200... based on my previous photography xp.

Good, this is a step forward. You are just starting with the Mavic Air, right? I would recommend using the automatic settings for the beginning to first get well familiar with safe flying. And then bit by bit learn the manifold and partly complex camera settings. There are many tutorial videos in this forum and on e.g. Youtube. And step by step you'll discover the full potential :-)

Yes, just getting started.
First bigger, more serious drone.
I am looking through the forum for tutorials and videos ;)
But for camera settings... I dont really find a lot of things I could change.

Do you have any tips for the out of focus problem?

In your last pictures posted I cannot see an "out of focus" problem but challenging lighting situations that have certainly impacted the pictures with exposure issues if you were on manual settings what it looks like.

Yeah always use manual settings.  Try to keep your EV at -0.3 to -0.7 and of course make sure the ISO is 100 always.

Alright, than I consider it pilots fault. I'll try tomorrow with better lights.

I wish you good luck and take it step by step. It's a great drone with big potential but needs time to figure everything out. I am myself still at the beginning, honestly.

Hi Feldin, sorry for the late response. Please choose an outdoor open area where the GPS is good and no magnetic interference to fly the drone, hope everything is fine. If there is any further issue, please feel free to let us know, we're glad to help.

You can’t set EV on Mavic air. It moves only when you adjust shutter speed.

You can actually set your EV in auto settings to a certain value thus making the MA change the ISO / Shutter speed to get to that specific EV. In manual mode, you change the ISO / Shutter speed and see the resulting EV.

Any way to change aperture?

No, since it's a fixed size on the MA.

If you have Photoshop or its equivalent you can vastly reduce noise by shooting in burst mode... loading as layers... aligning ...crop as needed...turn layers into a smart object ... then use stack mode mean or median, That should reduce noise then use High Pass Sharpening to help with the soft focus.

Take a first one, for example. You are shooting against the sun, which makes the auto exposure system go for the shortest exposure available. Thus - everything darkened (underexposed).
Occasional good photo shows that your MA's camera is ok. Just not the best lighting conditions.
