I crashed my inspire on touchdown a while back and its not terrible. I was thinking that it might be smarter to get a Mavic instead of spending $ on the Inspirer repair ans several new bateries.

Thoughts?

If your camera survived, and the damage is minor....the Inspire 1 STARTED IT ALL.    You have batteries??  get the I1 fixed....

The cameras are very simlilar........this is why I have not bought a Mavic of any kind....I also have a P4Pro....that camera is minimum on a sub $2000.00 AC.  IMHO

I'd wait and see what's coming, AND fix the I 1

The I-1 has an HDMI out, you just need goggles that have an HDMI IN.

Guys, This is the reply I got from the service center. Sounds a bit $$$ to me. Should i just have them do the firmware updates and forget the rest then buy my own camera? The right arm isn't very bad at all.We have finished diagnosing your Inspire 1 and this is what we found.  Upon examination we found damage to Right arm, 3 landing gears needs to be replaced, aircraft needs firmware upgrade, and camera/gimbal system is damaged. We tested the gimbal and noticed there was delay in the motor as well as stability. Unfortunately we don't repair the gimbals/camera we can only replace it with a newer one. We can offer you a new X3 for $610. The estimated cost for the repair on your aircraft is $734 without the camera/gimbal.

That does seem a little high.  I would look into getting a Z3 camera which is much better than the x3.

Anyone else have advice??
